- The QuickLink Message Center software bundled with this voice modem
- seemed straightforward and friendly. I thought I would be in business
- in a matter of minutes. Dream on.
-
- I knew I had a problem when my mailbox greeting messages sounded like
- they were recorded from a short wave radio in a poor reception area.
- I figured the problem was my use of the phone as the input device.
-
- When I tried to solve the problem by buying a microphone and using it
- for recording, the problem got worse. There were ticking noises in
- the background and the sound was hollow. Trying another mike did not
- help. For the record, the microphones sound fine when recordings are
- made through the Windows Sound Recorder.
-
- The prerecorded messages that came with the software play back with a
- high quality sound. The recordings I made are unacceptable for
- business use.
-
- If anyone has experienced this and knows how to get around it, I would
- love to hear about it.
